Kaisow

A composite tea clipper built in 1868 by Robert Steele & Co., Greenock, as Yard No. 173. Dimensions: 193'2"×32'0"×20'3" and tonnage: 930 32/94 BM, 820,30 GRT, 795,03 NRT, and 767 tons under deck. The figurhead was a demi-man figure head of a mandarin.

1868 November 19: Launched at the shipyard of Robert Steele & Co., Greenock, for Alexander Rodger, Glasgow, et al. Captain Anderson.
1869 December 1 - March 10: Sailed from London to Shanghai in 99 days.
1870: Sailed from Foochow to Deal in 98 days with a cargo of tea at £3 10s per ton.
1871 March 19 - June 19: Sailed from Cardiff to Shanghai in 92 days.
1871: Sailed from Batavia to Texel in 83 days.
1875 March 5 - June 10: Sailed from Deal to Hong Kong in 94 days.
1875 December 29: Sold to Killick, Martin & Co., London.
1876: Captain John Gadd.
1876 February 8 - June 19: Sailed from London to Hong Kong in 132 days.
1876 August 28 - December 20: Sailed from Manila to New York in 114 days with a cargo of sugar at $12,50 per ton and hemp at $8.
1877 April 18 - July 23: Sailed from London to Hong Kong in 96 days.
1878: Re-rigged as a barque.
1880 August 27 - October: Sailed from Yokohama to San Francisco in 36 days with a cargo of tea.
1885 April 29: Sold to William Bowen Jr, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire.
1890 May 15 - July 21: Sailed from Coquimbo to Liverpool in 67 days with a cargo of 1196 tons of manganese ore.
1890 August 19 - November 6: Sailed from Liverpool to Valparaiso in 79 days.
1891 February c21 - May 11: Sailed from Coquimbo to Liverpool in about 79 days.
1891 June 8 - September 12: Sailed from Liverpool to Valparaiso in 79 days.
1891 November 15: Foundered 60 miles WSW of Valparaiso on voyage Coquimbo to Great Britain after the a cargo of manganese ore had shifted.
