Afganistan

A four-masted iron barque built in 1888 by Richardson, Duck & Co, Stockton. Dimensions 88,74×12,82×7,38 meters [291'2"×42'1"×24'3"] and tonnage 2286 GRT and 2221 NRT. Rigged with royal sails over double top- and topgallant sails.

Sistership to the same owner's Arracan.

Launched at the shipyard of Richardson, Duck & Co., Stockton, for British and Eastern Shipping Co. Liverpool. Captain J. Callew.

Sailed from San Francisco to Liverpool in 212 days.
1902
Sailed from San Francisco to Queenstown for orders in 297 days.
1905 June 3
Run down and sunk by the British cruiser [?] Caesar off Dungeness.
