Cuba

An iron passenger screw steam ship built in 1864 by Tod & McGregor, Glasgow. Dimensions 103,07×12,92×8,37 meters [338'2"×42'4"×27'6"] and tonnage 2686 GRT, 2488 NRT and 2470 tons under deck.

Later rebuilt as a four-masted iron ship.

1864 May: Launched at the shipyard of Tod & McGregor, Glasgow, as the passenger screw steamer Cuba for the Cunard Line, Liverpool. Used in the Liverpool - New York passenger trade.
1864 December 3: Sailed from Liverpool on her maiden voyage to New York via Queenstown.
1876: Sold to David Brown & Sons, London, and was converted to a fourmasted ship and given the name Earl of Beaconsfield.
1877 November 1 — January 18: Sailed from London to Hudson's Bay in 78 days.
1887 November 6: Wrecked near Withernsea [Lubbock has Aldborough, Yorkshire] on voyage from Calcutta to Hull.
