Matterhorn

A four-masted iron barque built in 1882 by Russell & Co., Greenock. Dimensions: 81,19×12,24×7,21 meters [266'5"×40'2"×23'8"] and tonnage: 1918 GRT and 1839 NRT.

Rigged with royal sails over double top and single topgallant sails.

Launched at the shipyard of Russell & Co., Greenock, for J.R de Wolff, Liverpool. Captain J.F. Irish.
1909 April 27
The grain cargo shifted and ship foundered som 70 miles off the Umatilla Reef on voyage from Portland, OR, to Ipswich.
