Majestic

Passenger liner built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg. Launched in June 1914 for the Hamburg-Amerika Line and named the Bismarck. The completion was delayed by the World War, and the ship was not delivered until March 1922. Was tranferred to the British Shipping Controller after the war and was later sold to a consortium which consisted of the Cunard and White Star Lines. I samband med detta erhöll hon namnet Majestic. Sedermera övertog White Star lines ensamma ägandeskapet.

Sammanslogs Cunard och White Star lines. Sysselsatt på traden Southampton - Cherbourg - New York. Känd som "Queen of the Western Ocean" och var världens största fartyg innan Normandie sjösattes. Hon var det första fartyg som var utrustat för visning av ljudfilm.
1936 - 22 februari
Sista resan från New York till Southampton via Cherbourg. Laid up in March and sold to T.W. Ward for £ 115 000 on May 15.

Sold to the British Admirality as a "boys training ship" and renamed Caledonia.
1939
Sank at Rosyth im Skottland on September 29 after having caught fire.

Sold to Wards in March.
