Brother Jonathan
Wooden side-wheel steamer built in 1850 at the shipyard of Perine, Patterson and Stack at Williamsburg, New York, for Edward S. Mills.

- Launched at the shipyard of Perine, Patterson and Stack at Williamsburg, New York, for Edward S. Mills. Sailed between New York and Chagres for Mills in 1851 and 1852.
- 1852 March
- Sold to Cornelius Vanderbilt in March, 1852,
who operated her in the coastwise trade between San Francisco and San Juan
del Sur, Nicaragua.
- 1856
- She continued in the Pacific coastwise service in the ownership of John T. Wright who renamed her Commodore.
- 1858
- In 1858, California Steam Navigation Co. purchased the steamer and changed the name back to Brother Jonathan.
- 1865 July 30
- Lost on July 30, 1865 off St. George's Reef,
just north of Cresent City, California.
