A steel full-rigged ship built in 1884 by Oswald, Mordaunt & Co., Southampton. Dimensions 235'6"×38'3"×23'2" and 1538 GRT, 1498 NRT and 1538 tons under deck. Originally rigged with a main skysail.

Launched at the shipyard of Oswald, Mordaunt & Co., Southampton, for R.J. Swyny, Liverpool. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 91166 and signal JQVF.
1884
The first master of the ship was Captain J. McNeill.
1898/99
Sold to Laivanvarusyhtiö Raumo, Rauma, Finland, and was renamed Sylfid. The Finnish measurements were 1545 GRT and 1468 NRT. Captain K.S. Ahlsvik.
