A full-rigged iron ship built in 1876 by Alexander Stephen & Sons, Linthouse, as yardnumber 204. Dimensions 215'3"×34'×20'5" and tonnage: 1075 tons.

1876 December: Launched at the shipyard of Alexander Stephen & Sons, Linthouse, for the New Zealand Shipping Co., Christchurch, New Zealand.
1877 February 5: Sailed from London to Lyttelton in 99 days.
1877-1885: In command of Captain Boyd.
1877 November 20 - February 12: Sailed from PLymouth to Port Chalmers in 76 days and 12 hours.
1878 October 11: Sailed for New Zealand with 317 passengers.
1878 November 11: Fire broke out 180 miles off Pernambuco. The boats were prepared to save the passenger when the Loch Doon
1885-1890s: In command of Captain Sutherland.
1890s: Sold to J.E. Schäffer, Elsfleth.
1900: Posted missing while on voyage from Melbourne to Capetown.
