Scottish Hero

An iron barque built in 1876 by Wm. Doxford & Sons, Sunderland, as yard no. 79. Dimensions: 196'6"×33'0"×19'1" and tonnage: 911 GRT, 869 NRT and 795 tons under deck.

Launched at the shipyard of Wm. Doxford & Sons, Sunderland, for McIlwraith & MacEacharn & Co., London. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 73670 and signal PWNM.

Captain J. Fraser.
1893
Sold to A.H. Arnold, Brake, Germany, and was renamed Saturnus.
1900
Sold to G.O. Köster, Brake.
1905
Sold to A/S Saturnus (Chr Trondsen), Sarpsborg, Norway.
1914 May 30
Sold to Oscar Modén and partners, Simrishamn, Sweden. The Swedish measurements were 929 GRT, 800 NRT and 1500 DWT.
1915 October 12
Foundered in the North Atlantic on voyage from Miramichi with a cargo of timber for Cork. The crew was picked up by the British steamer Colorado.
