William T. Palmer

Bath, Massachusetts Two four-masted schooners and 13 five-masted. According to W.J. Lewis Parker The Great Coal Schooners of New England, William T. Palmer designed all the schooners in his fleet except for the Jane Palmer built in Boston and the Elisabeth Palmer built by Percy & Small, Bath.

"We build them with about three times as much timber as they should have to provide for their decay, knowing that there may come a time when one rib in three will have to furnish the strength".
