Success

Success (hulk). Cleveland, Ohio,

July 6. — According to the local Press, the hulk of the old British convict ship Success was ablaze on the night of July 4 in Lake Erie Cove, about half mile from the shore near Port Clinton, Ohio. A number of vessels went to the scene but noting could be done to save the hulk. The vessel, which is said to be 156 years old, ran aground while being towed from Sandusky to Port Clinton and was being dismantled for the valuable teakwood of which it is constructed. The cause of the fire is unknown.
