Ben Douran

A four-masted iron ship built in 1881 by H. Murray & Co., Port Glasgow. Dimensions 85,44×12,24×7,16 meters [280'4"×40'2"×23'6"] and tonnage 1950 GRT and 1871 NRT. Rigged with royal sails above double top- and topgallant sails.

1881 August
Launched at the shipyard of H. Murray & Co., Port Glasgow, for Watson Bros., Glasgow. The first master was Captain S. Shaw.
1885
Collided with and sank with the fullrigged ship Magician off Pernambuco.
1892 April 22
Left San Francisco for Falmouth with a cargo of grain and was never heard of again.
