Ben Douran

A four-masted iron ship built in 1881 by H. Murray & Co., Port Glasgow. Dimensions 85,44×12,24×7,16 meters [280'4"×40'2"×23'6"] and tonnage 1950 GRT and 1871 NRT. Rigged with royal sails above double top- and topgallant sails.

1881 August: Launched at the shipyard of H. Murray & Co., Port Glasgow, for Watson Bros., Glasgow. The first master was Captain S. Shaw.
1885: Collided with and sank with the fullrigged ship Magician off Pernambuco.
1892 April 22: Left San Francisco for Falmouth with a cargo of grain and was never heard of again.
