A barque built of oak and pitchpine in 1875 by H.F. Ulrichs, Bremerhaven. Dimensions 50,50×10,38×6,20 meters and tonnage 813 GRT and 788 NRT. Rigged with double topsails, single topgallant sails and royals.

Shelled by a German submarine in position 56°2'N, 2°30'E and later put on fire. The crew which escaped in one of the ship's boats, was later saved by the British destroyer Telemacus and was taken to Leith.
