HM Bark Endeavour

A cat-built, barque-rigged ship built in 1764 in Whitby as the Earl of Pembroke.

Registered dimensions: 97'7"½×29'3"×11'4", burthen 368 71/94 tons.

Launched at the shipyard of Messrs. Fishburn, Whitby.
1768 October 31
Purchased by the Navy Board from the owner Mr Thomas Milner for £ 2840. 10s. 11d and was renamed Endeavour.
1768 August 26
Sailed from Plymouth under Captain James Cook.
1771 July 13
Arrived at the Downs.
1774 September
Paid off and to be fitted out as a storeship.
1775 March 7
Sold out of service for £ 645.
1790
Bought by Mr W. Hayden and re-named La Liberté and put under French colours.
