An iron fullrigged ship built in 1884 by W. Gray & Co., West Hartlepool, for J. Lidgett & Sons, London. Dimensions 259'3"×39'2"×22'9" and 1737 GRT, 1690 NRT and 1625 tons under deck.

Launched at the shipyard of W. Gray & Co., West Hartlepool, for J. Lidgett & Sons, London. Assigned the official British Registration No. 89268 and signal JQPS.
