Lodestar

An iron fullrigged ship built in 1884 by W. Gray & Co., West Hartlepool, for J. Lidgett & Sons, London. Dimensions 259'3"×39'2"×22'9" and 1737 GRT, 1690 NRT and 1625 tons under deck.

1884 September: Launched at the shipyard of W. Gray & Co., West Hartlepool, for J. Lidgett & Sons, London. Assigned the official British Registration No. 89268 and signal JQPS.
1884: Captain P. Nowland.
1894: Reduced to barque rig.
1897 June 15: Sold to Knö,hr & Burchard, Hamburg, and was renamed Steinbek. The new German measurements were 79,03×11,95×6,98 meters and 1680 GRT.
1899: Captain C. Thießen.
1900: Captain A.C. Hansen.
1901-02: Captain C.H.T. Reinecke.
1902: Sailed from Cardiff to Port Elizabeth in 62 days.
1903-06: Captain B. Giertz.
1907: Captain H. Wilken.
1907 May 10: Sold to A/S Viva (H.A. Hansen), Arendal, and was renamed Viva.
19__: Sold to Chile.
1917: Sold to L. Belardi, Genoa, Italy.
1922: Sold to N. Miguel, Barcelona, Spain.
1925: Broken up in Italy.
