Oostenburg

An iron barque built in 1888 by Huygens & van Gelder, Concordia, Amsterdam. Dimensions: 182'0"×35'0"×22'5" and tonnage: 1043 GRT, 1007 NRT and 955 tons under deck. Rigged with what appears to be single topsails, topgallants and royals according to a picture in Norske Seilskibe.

Launched at the shipyard of Concordia, Amsterdam, for W.A. Huygens, Amsterdam [?]. Assigned the official Dutch Reg. No. ____ and signal ____. Employed in the East Asian trade. Captain F. Visser.

Sold to Herman Jacobsen, Sarpsborg, Norway and was renamed Syvstjernen.

Captain Søren Hansen.
1903 March 6
Abandoned in the Mediterranean on voyage from Trinidad to Mareilles.
1903 April 5
Salvaged and brought to Philipville. Condemned and sold to Italy where she was repaired and renamed St. Joseph.
