Wasdale

A steel full-rigged ship built in 1881 by Whitehaven Shipbuilding Co., Whitehaven. Dimensions: 262'3"×39'3"×24'1" and tonnage 1879 GRT, 1821 NRT and 1742 tons under deck.
1881 September
Launched at the shipyard of Whitehaven Shipbuilding Co., Whitehaven, for The Dale Line of J.D. Newton. Assigned the official British Registration No. 84165 and signal WFBC.

Owner: W. Kelly, Liverpool.
c1889/90
Captain R. Campbell replaced Captain W. Browne as master of the ship.
c1900
Sold to Trinder, Andersen & Co. 1856 GRT and 1742 NRT.
1906/7
Sold by to A/S Wasdale (N.A. Lydersen), Tvedestrand, Norway.
1917 January 13
Sailed from Fayal for Dublin.
1917 February 3
Sunk by a German submarine. The crew was saved by the Dutch steamer Samarinda.
