An iron full-rigged ship built in 1874 by J. Blumer & Co., Sunderland. Dimensions 219'7"×35'1"×20'7" and tonnage 1157 GRT, 1124 NRT and 1016 tons under deck. The forecastel was 34 feet longand the poop 44 feet.

Launched at the shipyard of J. Blumer & Co., Sunderland, for the New Zealand Shipping Company, Christchurch. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 70629 and signal NMFS.

Made 22 voyages to New Zeland under the NZSC flag.
