"County"-Line

R. & J. Craig, Glasgow

157, St. Vincent Street,
Glasgow.
Craig favoured only two shipbuilders for his sailing ships. The first 10 ships were built by Connell of Glasgow and the 12 fourmasted ships were all built by Barclay, Curle & Co. in Glasgow.

In the beginning of the 20th century the County ships began to look for other trades and could be found loading case oil in Philadelphia for the Far East, coal in Cardiff for Capetown, or grain from the Pacific Northeast for Europe.
