New Ship the Dashing Wave.

According to previous notice, the beautiful clipper ship Dashing Wave was launched yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the yard of Fernald & Petigrew. This ship is of the same model as Water Witch, which was launched a few weeks ago. She is thoroughly built, copper fastened, sheathed with yellow metal to her deep load lines.

After the launching, a collation was given by Capt. Ichabod Goodwin and F&P, the owners of the ship, on which occasion, the following sentiment was offered by William H.Y. Hackett and received with rapturous applause:

"Our friends, Messers. Fernald & Petigrew -- Their ingenuity, enterprise, and liberality is without bounds; in former days they were content, like the rest of us, to make little Catherines or Elizas, but they soon changed the Fashion and show our New York friends a Columbus. They have caused the Danaube to run, and created an Empire State. They have made a Western World and a Frank Pierce to sail it, and even compelled a Levi Woodbury to walk the plank; and having created a beautiful Water Witch, they now send an elegant Dashing Wave to roll its builders' fame to the Pacific shores".
